I am sure that everyone has at least once suffered being interrupted by a commercial, while watching favourite TV show. Advertisements are everywhere, we meet them at every step of our lives. Most people find them not welcome and irritating, and would get rid of them with great joy. Would it be good to us and, what is more important, is it possible for us to erase any advertising from our reality and live without it?
Advertisement is a sign of a consumer society. We have more and more money to spend, but we do not know how to do it. That is where advertising emerges, we are supplied by it with plenty of choices. So we may perceive it as an advantage of ads. However, the way these advertisements speak to us is not so positive. We fell overwhelmed, without any hope to run from it.
On the contrary, advertisements are also a form of art, it is a pleasure to look at or listen to some of them. Sometimes we find them exhilarating or even useful. Although the aim of advertising is purely commercial, we sometimes experience advertisements of a higher purpose, charity for instance.
The world of advertisements is also our world, it is inevitable part of our lives. As far as I am concerned we should only lower the influence that advertisements have on us, instead of banning any form of advertising.
